April 02

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Hong Kong-based furniture brand m.a.d. Furniture has established a North American headquarters in Minneapolis. m.a.d. designs furniture for home, work and hospitality environments at an accessible price point.

“We’re beyond thrilled to finally announce the opening of our North American headquarters in Minneapolis,” said Matt Cole, managing director of m.a.d. Furniture Design. “From what started over a couple of beers in Hong Kong, it has grown into an international organization that ships to more than 20 countries around the world. With this move, we are excited to have ownership over the distribution of the m.a.d. collection to the U.S., Canada and Mexico and the opportunity to service our clients directly.”

Headed up by Peder Nyhus and Sara Moore, the North American m.a.d. headquarters offers direct brand and product support. Products are now available to the North American market for the first time, including seating, occasional tables, desks and outdoor in several finish options that are in stock and ready to ship. Clients and customers will also have access to live inventory, spec sheets, product photography, and 3D images and models through the new online store and design professional client portal.

With prices starting at $269 for plywood chairs and $689 for top-grain leather upholstered chairs, the company offers an assortment that now includes more than 40 originally designed products made from materials such as powder-coated steel, molded plywood, aluminum, solid and veneered woods, and plastic.

m.a.d.’s pieces are designed by a team in Chicago and manufactured in Southern China.
